Our CEO Joins the Journey to Support the 17th Annual Murlpirrmarra Cultural Football Weekend

At Buswest, we believe that supporting community initiatives goes beyond logistics, it’s about people, purpose, and passion. That’s why, for the 6th year running CEO Ben Doolan took the wheel himself.

To show our company’s deep commitment to Indigenous youth development and cultural exchange, our CEO personally drove students from Perth for the 17th Annual Murlpirrmarra Cultural Football Weekend, a powerful weekend of sport, culture, and connection.

The Murlpirrmarra Cultural Football Weekend is more than just a game, it’s a bridge between remote and urban communities, giving young people a platform to connect, learn, and grow. This year, the Wiluna Martu Eagles were joined by the Mount Magnet Miners and Dalkeith Nedlands Junior Football Club for a packed program that brought together kids from the bush and the city.

Kicking things off at The University of Western Australia, students took part in a special ‘Buddy Questionnaire’ an icebreaker that paired regional and city students to foster understanding and friendship. The day continued with a BBQ and half-time match at Claremont Football Club, where the kids took centre field during the WAFL clash between the Tigers and Perth Football Club.
