The position will be reporting to North West Senior Operations Manager.

Operations Assistant / Bus Driver - Port Hedland

Buswest Port Hedland part of the Australian Transit Group Pty Ltd (ATG) are seeking expressions of interest for an exciting position as Operations Assistant / Bus driver in the Port Hedland Depot.

The key responsibilities for the role are: 

  • Supporting the Operations Manager in the management and delivery of services
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operation of the depot by adhering to operating standards as directed by Operations Manager.
  • Assisting with logistical planning of people and vehicle movements
  • Customer and Client Liaison
  • Assisting with driving duties
  • Ensure daily work schedules are created and accurately allocated to adhere to the requirements of contracts.
  • Implement and maintain the Scheduling and Allocation procedures
  • Ensure all scheduled activities are compliant with industry and Company standards and regulations and tasks are conducted by suitable qualified and trained staff
  • Plan work schedules and vehicle allocation per contractual responsibilities for OM approval
  • Prepare and distribute job sheets for Drivers including all associated routes, passenger information, signage and special requests

The Ideal Person: 

  • Advantageous to have previous experience in a similar role preferably within the passenger transport industry
  • Has a natural integrated safety culture
  • Customer-focused with an outgoing personality
  • IT literate to utilise computerised management systems for maintenance of vehicles and management of daily services (drivers and trips) as well as day-to-day Microsoft tools (Word, Email and Excel)
  • Have an excellent problem-solving ability and experience dealing in high-stress environments
  • MR License or above
